Hi! My name is Amy and I want to thank you for visiting Barber Pond Studios’ web site.
Here at the studios I make custom screen printed items in short runs. If you’d like to learn more about how I came to do what I do, you can find it in the About page.
It’s just me here in my little studio in a house looking over Barber Pond in Pownal, Vermont. I love working with my hands and making bold, environment-friendly art to wear and use.
While I have the ability to do so, I have chosen not to make permanent screens which means I do not print in half tones or even particularly fine lines. My paper stencils are “rough” compared to commercial production so if you order an item, its registration may not be perfectly aligned compared to the picture you see. I’ve made this choice because there are, literally, tens of thousands of screen printing shops that can do just that for you. By reusing paper from local businesses, refusing to use the harsh chemicals required to make photosensitive stencils, air drying short runs, and using water-based inks I get to use my hands and make a minimal imprint on the beautiful environment around me. When you wear a shirt I’ve made for you, you’ll know and feel the gentle footprint on the planet while making bold statements!
I can also make you one or a few items for a fairly reasonable price. Look for my contact form soon. In the meantime, feel free to drop me a line at bbruze at gmail dot com.
